How can i hide local area network icon to prevent others not to change ip address and other setup. pls help me

Assuming you're running Windows XP, you could run mmc and adding the group policy snap-in. Then you can modify your local group policies.

on windows right click on taskbar say properties under notification area click customise under current items look for the LAN icon beside it say always hide then ok then say ok again
