Why wont my computer connect to the internet?

  • It doesn't seem to be picking up my ip address and its not any of the connections as i am using it for this computer just now. I done a fresh install of windows xp and ever since it wont connect I have tried wireless and using and using an ethernet cable but nothing Thanks for any help in advance :)

    Did you install the ethernet drivers? On your working computer type ipconfig on the command line, and on the other one set your defaut gateway and dns as the yare in ipconfig ( of course don't use the same IP ) Should be something like: Adresse IP. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.2 Masque de sous-réseau . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Passerelle par défaut . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 Serveurs DNS . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
