How to increase GTA IV FPS?

Why do only have 23 fps in my gta iv gameplay?

  • Specs: Amd phenom 9600 quad core 2 gb ram 8400gs video card windows xp professional I was wondering why cause when i go on youtube and watch a couple of videos of amd phenom's running gta iv they get around 50 fps. I ran the gta iv benchmark and only get 23 fps. Why do i only have 23 fps? Is there something in my specs bottnecking my fps, i'm sorry but i dont know much about computer. Please help me why only 23 fps? Thanks

    Your video card is the bottleneck for your gaming........you need to upgrade your video card so you can take full advantage of your processor. I would suggest an ATI 4850 or better.......then all will be good.

well as evident your video card is ancient, if you buy a new video card to match all the other nice pieces you have get a card that at least has 1gb of GDDR/DDR3-5 memory, has a 256bit or higher bus and has more than 300 stream processors at the moment you only have 8 stream processs, which is nothing, i would recommended a HD4850 (1gb) or HD4770 (at least 512mb) from ATi that are around $150-180 australian and they have 800 stream processors and have GDDR3 ram running at 993mhz stock (DRR is 1986MHZ equivilant) PS you might have to get a better PSU, something that atleast has 1x PCI-x power (6 pin 12v) connector at 75 watts to run it, don't use the adapter they give you that converts 2x molex into 6 pin, they are rubbish and have at least 30-40amps combined 12v on the rails of the PSU, that should make it run better, and yes get a

that hapeng to mee too so what you should do is closee all aplication and atuff restart your computer and do the benchmark with out any program close or anything. so check how much your FTP when to from 23

its the 8400gs card and you should probably upgrade your ram to 4GB.
