Will Spore work on a laptop?

How do I get Spore to work on Windows 7?

• I bought Spore when it was new and it says it works on windows xp and vista. I recently got a new laptop that has windows 7, I installed Spore and played it for a bit. but now it doesn't work anymore, I was only able to play it that 1 time. Now when I try to open it it turns the screen black and changes the curser to the spore curser. and then it just stops loading and I haven't been able to figure out what's wrong. and when I installed it it asked me if I wanted to install a patch, but it froze when I tried to install it. Could that patch be what I need to get it running?

  What the best thing to do is right click on the launcher icon for spore then go to properties. Inside properties then the compatibility tab then there should be a check box for run this program in compatibility mode for then the default selected should be windows XP SP3 then spores should run fine
