Is this iPod Touch a 2g or 3g?

Will a 2G screen work on a 3G ipod touch?

• A while ago i cracked the screen of my ipod touch (3rd generation, 8GB version), and when i went to apple, they decided that it would cost over £100 to fix. So my friend says that his cousin can fix it for me, but he can only get 2nd generation ipod touch screens, and he isn't sure if the 2G screen will work with the 3G ipod touch. From what I've heard they're the same, but I just want to be sure. p.s. the warranty has already run out on my ipod so i'm not bothered about voiding it. p.p.s The screen still works, but the cracks are irritating.

  Yeah 2G n 3G have the same screens .... They're compatible with each other ..... Btw ... If you search Apple store ... You'd get a price list of batteries and screens ... They've mentioned the price of the spare part in one column and parts+service charge in another ..... I think you can order them online .... Not sure .... Do check once though .... :)
