Where can I get a good laptop?

Where can I get a good, inexpensive laptop/computer?

• question: Where should I look? details: I want a computer for myself for school and other stuff. My budget is $250.00 maximum(which rules out a mac). I want a good processor, lots of RAM memory, a decent amount of storage space on a hard drive, and a decent graphics card because I will be likely be making OpenGL stuff on it. I do not care how big the monitor is. I will likely install Ubuntu on it, but I don't care if it has Windows pre-installed on it. The last requirement is that I want it for the next minimal 2 and a half years, but possibly for the next 5. I don't care if it is a laptop or a desktop, as long as it is good quality. Where should I look?

  Newegg has laptops/desktops/netbooks for $250 and under, but unfortunately you're probably not gonna get much performance out of them considering the work you'll be doing. You get what you pay for.
