How do I get into safe mode without a keyboard?

USB Mouse/Keyboard not working on windows startup. No PS/2 slots on the PC?

  • How can we get the Keyboard/Mouse to work, or install the OS without the Mouse/Keyboard. Don't say go in safe mode, because WE CAN'T USE THE MOUSE OR KEYBOARD!!!! I understand that the problem is that the computer doesn't have the drivers for the Mouse/Keyboard, and I know this can be fixed by buying a PCI PS/2 port, but we are looking for a cheaper, quicker solution. Again, I KNOW HOW TO GO IN SAFE MODE, WE CAN'T BECAUSE THE KEYBOARD WON'T FUNCTION!!! (Sorry, I just got that alot on another forum)

  • Answer:

Wish you had put the type of pc you were using (laptop or desktop). Have you tried using a usb mouse. Your os should at least load generic drivers for your mouse and key board. Unfortunately there is always the possibility that it is a motherboard issue. I had a pc that the onboard usb ports were damaged. Post a little more info about your pc so we can narrow down the type of hardware we are dealing with.
