Where can I get KPOP MIDI files?

Why does my PC restart when I play midi files?

  • I just bought a midi-USB converter for my midi keyboard and messed around with the midi input/output through Sonar 3 (Possibly a bad idea as I didn't really know what I was doing!). Now whenever I play midi files I either get no sound at all, or my PC restarts itself (powers off then starts up again, as opposed to going through a shut down/restart procedure). The drivers all appear to be up-to-date. Upon rebooting I get the WIndows 'serious error' message.

  • Answer:

If windows reports a serious error then I am guessing that something you have installed has replaced the windows standard protocol for running midi files, and when this code runs it creates an error. It may be that the file is corrupt. I would try uninstalling an re-installing the software. If the problem persists try putting your windows disk in and repair windows.

If it worked before, then maybe you should uninstall everything to do with it and then reinstall, hopefully this will wipe the settings you changed.
