How can you compare amd to intel?

How do AMD and Intel compare?

• i have a hp-compaq cq62 whose motherboard is fried coz of some liquid damage and i have to get a new motherboard. one with an AMD processor is about 85$ and the one with intel is about 100$. am not sure which series of processor each has but i want to know in general how the two compare in terms of graphics, speed, multitasking... e.t.c .

  amd is best compared to intel in graaphics or speed but it produces lots of heat see both the processor making company have their hidden strengths... AMD has an advantage on internal memory bus(generally around "2000Mhz" and more) calling it as "HyperTransport" (HT), makes use of "64-bit architecture"(this is very common among AMD processors) in which more instructions or program lines can be executed at a time. Also AMD processors are cheaper than Intel procesors Because of its HT technology, AMD processors are recommended for Gamers as they give lots of space and speed for a particular program. INTEL on other hand has "HyperThreading "(HT) technology because of which more programs can be worked on with parallely, hence multi tasking is more efficient here. Almost all Intel processors uses 32-bit architecture, hence less instructions can be bought into the processor for execution also it has slower memory bus(generally 667Mhz or 800Mhz) but parallelism diminishes this drawback. Also Intel processors are very expensive compared to a similar kind of AMD processor.. INTEL is highly recommended for casual use and for those who are more into multi using for programs like net surfing,listening music, word processor all at same time.... SO if you are a hardcore GAMER probably AMD suits you the best(NOTE that your operating system should be 64-bit to make use of 64-bit AMD architecture) otherwise INTEL will do wonders for you!! if ur system is 32 bit choose 32 bit processor for intel or amd if its 64 bit then choose 64 bit processor if u have 64 bit then u can use 32 bit also but u have to change bios setting if its 32 bit u cant install 64 bit CHOICE IS YOURS
