How do you format an sd card on the computer?

Why Wont My 16 Gigabyte SD Card Format On My Computer And Phone?

• Okay Here's The Dilemma, My SD Card 16 Gig was running smoothly for a while. I put it back into my laptop's SD slot, and all of a sudden "In order to continue you must format your SD card before you use it". I click Format, quick format, FAT32, then all of a sudden it failed to complete format. I looked online, every response is to go to My computer management Disk management, and format it from there. they said if that fails, then delete The Volume, however the option is greyed out, and unselectable. My phone ( Ascend Metro PCS Huawei Android ) Formats it, then I try to use it the phone says Insert SD Card. Sooooo Frustrating. I've heard something about my SD card being RAW, but I Dont understand any of that. Whoever helps solve ( Preferably no Links to other sites ) And provides a full explanation of how to solve my problem will get voted BEST ANSWER. YAAY and I will have my problem solved :)

  What the potato is a SD card? I wouldn't put that in my computer if I were you. Anyways, something being RAW basically means it got fried, as in, a small ( or big ) amount of electricity traveled through finger tips and into the delicate hardware, and thus making it useless.
