How to transfer files from my PC to an external hard disk?

How to transfer data from my old hard disk to another computer.peculiar case. Pls read additoinal details.?

• I had 320gb hard disk with 3 partitions and in one partition I had windows ultimate. I removed the hard disk and did casing and connected it to my another computer. It detects the three partitions but when I try to open a partition among the three it shows "format disk" and another time it shows the data and another time it shows "data redundancy cyclic error". I want to transfer the files from the 320 gb hard disk to my another computer. Note: When I used "format and delete partitions"of control panel, it detected and showed the three partitions of 320gb hard disk as RAW type. Please help me. I want to transfer the data to my new pc.

  First save it on an External Hard Disk or Zip/pen drive then connect this to another pc u want to transfer data, then open it n copy paste the data.
