Computer Hardware Engineer?

I know this probably sounds stupid but do i need to take computing in high school to be a computer hardware engineer. This year i took maths english geography spanish graphic-communication technical-studies (programming, circuit building etc.) physics and chemistry. so I would like to know if I need to take computing and what the best University for hardware engineering would be for a well achieving but not over achieving student.
