Best PC to TV Converter Box?

  • I'm wanting to take my PC and connect it to my 65 in TV so I can surf my PC and watch Hulu TV on my TV. I have tried various different connect cables and a video card that actually got a picture but the quality was not worth it. I want to use VGA out of my PC and convert it to RCA or HD to connect to my big screen. My TV is a HD ready Toshiba and it's about 5 years old. My TV also has S Video and HDMI connections as well but I'm not sure if they would be suitable for convert connecting. I have searched google and found many such converter boxes, some are even wireless. They all say they will do what I want but I need to know which is best before I spend money only to be disappointed. I'm willing to spend a bit to get what really works but not more than a couple hundred tops. Any help out there?

    Could've swore I just answered this question; S-Video <- a $10 cable can do the trick.

Since your TV has an HDMI port, the best way to connect a computer to it would be with HDMI. This is a digital video signal capable of up to 1920x1080 resolution, aka 1080p High Definition. A TV's HDMI port can be connected directly to any computer with a DVI port using a DVI-to-HDMi cable. No converter box necessary. Unfortunately, you can't use computer VGA with HDTV HDMI, because VGA is an analog signal. Hell of a good excuse to upgrade your video card to one with DVI or HDMI though. If you want high-definition, you cannot use S-video. S-video is an analog signal from the days of old tube TVs capable of low-definition video only, I'm using my big-screen 52" LCD HDTV as my monitor.
