If you are a beginner it is truly hard but just keep on trying until you can master typing and improve your speed without looking on the keyboard. There is an easy way to learn and that is online. The website is typingweb.com. It's where I've been testing my typing speed lately. It offers various typing tests.

The way you learn is to start on the home row and add two or three letters at a time until you know where all the letters are (save the numbers for later.) Do exercises with lines that have only the letters you know so far. I'm sure there are computer programs that do this. I saw a game that showed random letters floating down from the top of the screen, and you had to type them to make them disappear before they hit the bottom. Once you know all the letters, then it's just practice. Type newspaper articles, or a book, any kind of text. Try to go at a steady rhythm instead of 'clusters' of letters. For the numbers it's okay to look. 8^) EVERYONE does hunt-and-peck with the numbers.

There is no easy way to do this. Just keep typing. Copy from a book if you have to. Ther eis a program called Mavis Beacon that I used to use in my early years of school. Not sure if it is still around though.
