Is a DVD-RW disk different from a DVD-RAM disk?

Can my disk drive burn dual layered disks?

  • I have a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633P disk drive and I need to make sure that it can burn dual layered disks. I know it can read dual layered so I makes since that it would be able to burn as well. I want to make sure so I don't have to try it. The DL disks I have are write once disks so I can't have any files on it before I burn my video on it (I need all the space). This is the specs from the Gateway website for my computer about the drive: 8x Multi-Format Dual Layer DVDRW and DVD-RAM featuring Labelflash™ Technology I figured that by saying Dual Layer DVDRW that it means it can write DL but I want someone who knows for sure to tell me. Thanks.

  • Answer:

Yes, it can write Dual-Layer DVDs. However, TSSTcorp is not what I would call... a reputable company, so there is a chance that problems could develop.
