Video Games have issues with my PC and its Graphics Card?
-
So I have two games on my PC and one is pretty old. I have a Pentium 4 HT dual core 2.8GHZ 512MB of RAM and the rest of the PC should be the defualt hardware for DX2300 microtower. I play Halo CE and Minecraft, but on occasion they crash randomly without warning. When Minecraft crashes I exit out of it through task manager and until i restart my PC It will say it has bad video card drivers. The only workaround is to right click my desktop and use the troubleshoot bar on the 3rd thing from the left. Then minecraft works fine. Halo however crashes and gives a STOP error code 0x0000008e. Minecraft is understandable, but Halo was made in 2001 for older PCs. The hard drive came out of a diffrent PC, but i have installed all the correct drivers on it from the proper websites. Usually the games work for a while and then they freeze and give a crash. Is something wrong with the drivers, the video card, or my PC in general? And does anyone know of a solution or fix I can try?

If you're playing this with the onboard graphics chipset, it's more than likely preventing itself from overheating. Games like these are not meant to be played on integrated chipsets, especially on a machine that old. Back then, integrated chipsets were designed to handle images and videos, webpages and that sort of stuff. But not gaming. Honestly, you're better off just picking up a new PC. Any new compter will be much much better than that one. It's really time to upgrade.

512MB of RAM is NOT enough for either of these games. At all. Halo did NOT come out in 2001 for PCs. It came out at that time for the XBox. It was released for PC in 2003. You're stuck. Furthermore, playing these with onboard graphics? It must be agonizingly slow. No wonder it's crashing. Your computer is a relic.
