What is microprocessor memory?
-
Is Microprocessor memory its internal memory? For example 8086 has 1Mb and Pentium 4 has 64G. Is this the memory of all the registers present in d processor? They why is cache memory needed? Or is microprocessor memory the memory which it can address (of RAM, harddisk, ROM, etc.)? What does this mean? Then why do registers in processors contain addresses (like 00000 to FFFFF) if memory is in harddisk? It looks like memory system is divided into 3- transient program area, system area and extended memory system. Is this memory of all storage devices combined? Itseems Transient program area holds DOS. Where is this situated? System area has BIOS system ROM from F0000 to FFFFF. Is this the address of data in ROM?

Answer:
there are basically registers on cpu which helps in arithmetic or logical operations and cache is to boost up ur cpu performance by saving the files which are req by the cpu frequently on the cache..... and primary memory is for the operations ur computer is currently doing it can b playing a song or opening a text file, any thing. ur cpu cant acess secondary memory directly so the data ur cpu is tryin to acess is loads onto primary memory with help of buses(sry if i m getting too deep in the topic) frm secondary memory, coz cpu can only acces cache memory, primary memory and its own register. there are named or rather say represented Hexadecimal no. dats why they are like 000f, 012fb, ab001 they are offset nos. and dued if u really wanna knw what these are try reding books on Operating systems and basic electronics. now come the ROM its main purpose is during the boot up it checks that ur whether system ready and online to hand over to the OS is not it will show error messages or beeps like is there is no RAM in ur system it will give a beep sound. its located on ur mother board, u can recognize it easily, search for a button cell its on the rom or near it coz ROM needs a power source other then ur electrical supply
