How to change the resolution of individual games?

Ati Mobility Radeon 5470 Default Resolution Q.?

• I've a Ati Mobility Radeon 5470 on my current laptop alongside a dual core AMD cpu. My question is regarding the default resolution settings on my 5470 graphics card. Whenever I play Age of Empires 2 or even Doom 3, i can't change the resolution outside of 800 by 600, it always plays those certain games along with MOHAA (Medal of Honor Allied Assault) at a certain resolution by default. I tried changing the resolution in game to a higher one, restarted the game and still stayed at the default 800x600. I don't understand why, or how I could possibly change the graphics card's default resolution settings. My card should be able to play those old games flawlessly, I should know. If anyone there knows of a manual way to change these settings, do tell! Thank you, any help regarding this particular problem is appreciated!

EDIT; I AM going to be serious for a minute, I think your driver needs updating, upadate it and it should run fine. I had a problem when I played WOW, it stopped after the update.
