Getting rid of my gaming laptop for a gaming desktop what gpu is good?

I can compare cpu's but gpu's are a little harder. My laptop has a Nvidia 460M GTX which from what I read is more equal to a desktop 250 or 260 gts so I am trying to find a gpu that can be equal to my mobile. Looking at both ATI and Nvidia. I know mobile cards are not as good as their desktop counterparts but that is as much as I know. Thanks for the help!

the gts 250 is very week out dated card . . try to aim for the gtx 460 "desktop version" or the HD 6850 from a decent gaming experience . .
