How do I record video to a local disk in AIR?

Optimal SSD disk/regular disk setup for frapsing games (what software on what disks)?

  • Hello, I am buying fraps and a new computer to for youtube gaming video purposes. In that regard I am wondering what is the optimal hdd setup fro fraps. In the sense that I want to record game and voice in fairly high resolution, using fraps. I am buying an SSD disk with 500something read/write, but I am unsure which of the following gives a better result, given I have a 120gb ssd disk and a 1tb or something regular disk. - OS on SSD disk. - OS and Game to be frapsed on SSD disk. - OS and Game and fraps writing/destination folder on SSD disk. - Other?

  • Answer:

You don't have to buy SSD to remove the lag. Fraps does not compress the video as it records, so there will be lag because it has to write massive files to your hard disk drive. SSD might be helpful, but you may still have the lag. Try Bandicam. Bandicam compresses the recording video when recording, and uses much lower CPU/GPU/RAM usage than Fraps. As a result, you may have much less lag. => Bandicam: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=bandicam
