How to set bios to default settings?

BIOS settings messed up !!?

  • I have a very old computer which has problem in its BIOS settings ..In the beginning it shows bad checksum error- defaluts loaded ..and then it asked to press F1 to continue and got stuck at "veriifying DMI pool data" ....it was showing another error in the beginning which says latency time recommended to 3. But when i changed latency time i never saw this error again. I tried to check the motherboard name and model number but could not find it anywhere. Could anybody please tell me how can i check if my BIOS settings are okay. I reserached on internet where i got that this error sometimes is becuase of old battery so i replaced my motheboard battery but still getting same error. i already tried to set in on fail-safe and default setting but no help either. Please let me know what else i can do. please dont say to discard it, i am just curious to learn. Thanks in advance

  • Answer:

Have you ever tried updating the bios? You said it was old and it probably needs a new version to work properly with new exhisting software. Plus, what operating system are you using?
