How do I get past the sonic wall on work computer?

I need to find out if my computer can handle a faster cpu and what i would need to do to get it to work?

  • Im currently running on an acer aspire 4315/w an Intel Celeron Processor(530 1.73GHz also specs are here (http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=33100) I have upgraded my ram to 4gb even tho my computers max is 2gb, my computer still runs it just says it can only read 2.99gb out of 4. I am running windows 7 ultimate on 32bit. I have this (Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P8700)(http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=37006) at my house ready to use,(got it for free) both laptop sockets are/can support PGA478 I have put the core 2 duo in my laptop correctly using thermal compound, when i started the computer, it turns on with a black screen and then about 2 seconds later the fan stops and the computer shuts down. Then if i put the original celeron processor back in, my computer starts back up like normal What do I need to do to get this to work with my laptop, or is my computer even able to handle that processor

  • Answer:

The maximum RAM you can handle is 2GB and forget about CPU upgrade. This is an outdated crappy laptop don't waste any money on it.
