What does it mean to have a versatile voice?

What does this mean? DFV c modem, does it mean DATA FAX Voice?

I need to know if i have a Voice modem, does DFVc modem mean DATA FAX VOICE modem? I want to be able to turn me computer into a answering machine instead of paying Bellsouth for voice mail.... will this modem work for this use? And, is there any free or resonably priced software that will work for this use? I am running windows XP. thanks in advance for all your help

Yes DFV means Data/Fax/Voice. This modem can be used as an answering machine. Usually, such modems bundles with software to support all the capabilities. Bitware used to have communication software.
