What does syncing do to your iPhone?

How do I start syncing my iPhone to a new computer instead of the old one?

  • I have an iPhone and I previously synced it to my old Dell PC (with stupid, old Windows XP of course). I upgraded to an Apple iMac (with Leopard, which I'm loving by the way) and I wish to stop syncing to my old PC, and start syncing to my shiny, new iMac. The only problem is everytime I try to sync it, iTunes tries to delete all the info, music, files, etc. on my iPhone. I don't want to do this, I want to get everything on my iPhone, to be on my iMac, too. How exactly can I do this?

  • Answer:

The i-phone is only compatible to one computer, so if you plug into a different one all info music will be deleted. The best option you have would be to transfer all your music from old computer to the new one, and then when you sync all the stuff will still be there. Gotta love Apple. :)
