How do i find out what type of memory my computer uses ?

  • To clear things up for you guys and save some of you even posting i am well away how to check how ''MUCH'' memory my computer has. The problem is i want to buy another gig of memory and im not sure what type my computer uses e.g DDR2...which i think it is but i dont want to buy a gig and it be the wrong one so short of opening the case and looking how do i tell what type i have ? I have tried that belarc adviser and all that tells me is how much i have which i already know but it doesnt tell me what type it is? Let me kno....

google the specs of the exact model of your computer..it will tell you exactly which memory and speed it runs at..cheers

The best way is to search for your pc's specs on the net, otherwise the most useful is to take out the memories, and check if there's a label, and on that label you can see what type of memory they are.

Do what Pentiumw.... said and go to www.crucil.com. You need to use Internet Explorer in order for them to check your memory. Also allow cookies. I just ordered from them on Sunday. Good luck
