What can I buy to make my computer go faster?

I have had many requests for a fix for this problem, and I have put together a little page online to help you make your computer faster, but for FREE! Although 1 or 2 of the steps may not work for Windows 2000 (the list was designed for XP), most of the steps will work, and none will harm your computer in any way. hardware is will increase the speed major dude look for ram. that has low lantancy timings lower numbers eg 4-4-4- 10 the lower the numbers the better the performace of the ram. also cpus can increase the perfomace. hope this helped

think about upgrading to windows xp2,so far i found no program that will make my computer go faster but they fix the pc issues,a upgrade processor will help intel,check the spec of your motherboard thourgh the manufacture web site and see if you can upgrade your processor and ram

Look at the System Requirements for Windows 2000 and for the software that you use the most. Take the largest values for each (CPU, disk space, RAM, etc.). Now increase each of those values by about 50%. Then compare with what your PC actually has. If they all look okay, then increasing the RAM is a good place to start. If the CPU speed is slower than the minimum, there's probably not a lot you can do. Finally, if your disk space is good, but you're seeing a lot of disk activity when you work, you may have an older, slow disk drive. Compare the speed of your disk drive with ones available today, to see what kind of a performance increase you might get by replacing it.

hi mylin, max out your ram to 4gb of ram and get a dsl broadband internet service provider. but until then let's see if we can get some more speed for you hit start>settings>control panel hit the internet options icon and delete your history and your cookies now hit the advanced tab scrol to the bottom of the page under security and make sure that ss01 ss02 and ss03 are all checked and hit apply and then exit back to your desktop. now hit start>programs>accessories>system tools scrol down to defragment now this is very important that this finishes this step it will take awhile. but when your done you will notice a difference good luck hope i was helpful to you
