Why does my computer randomly crash to a Black Screen?

Computer can only get a blue screen is that a computer crash?

  • My friend told me her computer crashed and can only get a blue screen. What can I tell her to do so she can fix it?

    Tell her to reinstall her operating system. If its a blue screen, its probably running windows. :D

First TRY to find out why it's getting the blue screen. Next time the blue screen appears, quickly search to find whether it says hardware or software. Figure out what you were doing before the blue screen started appearing (did you install or reinstall anything etc) Figuring out why you got the blue screen is usually helpful for future reference and so that you can prevent it from happening again. In MOST cases (not all but most), you'll have to reinstall the Operating System. re boot, avter the bios screen start hitting the F8 key. once the menu comes up have her choose, boot to last know good configuration.
