Can I change my Motherboard or Raid Controller without loosing the data on my HDDs?
-
I have 6 SATA HDDs. All are set to Raid 1 (mirroring) sets (3 sets with 2 HDDs in each set). The first is a 500 Gig set, the Second is a 1TB set, and the third is a 1.5 TB Set. I realize that hardware burns out, including motherboards. I will eventually need to plug all of these into a new controller/mobo. I do not want to have to reformat them. Is it possible? **Please do not tell me to back it all up to Bluray disks, this is ever changing data, and I could never possibly make a back up that is not outdated.
