Transfer already converted VOB files from computer to external hard drive?

i ripped dvds to VOB files and added information under "summary" in properties, but i would lose this information when i try to transfer the files from the computer to an external hard drive. help?

Answer:
Any information in regard to the attributes of the file (name, file size, details, ect.) should carry over. If it isn't check your settings in whatever OS your using.
