How long will the Duo Core 2 will stick around?

How much performance increase does a core 2 duo e6350 have over a sempron 3400+ is there a huge difference?

• i was going to buy a new pc and i was taking a look at some of the cheap and good computers and the man there advised me to buy this computer and here are it's full specs: Intel core 2 duo e6350 2.85GB ram Geforce 9800 GT WDC WD 1200 BB.... Harddrive. Windows xp profesional Now i was taking a look at couple of the benchmarks at toms hardware and it cleary proves to me that the core 2 duo is no more then 25 to 30% faster then my current computer: Amd sempron 3400+ 3GB ram 8800 GTS vid card windows vista ultimate. here are some benchmarks that prove to me that the duo core is not that much faster then my old computer these benchmark compares things like gaming vid encoding and etc, the duo core will knock out the sempron but not by really much maybe 20% difference: http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/cpu-charts-2008-q1-2008/Photoshop-CS-3,384.html http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/cpu-charts-2008-q1-2008/Prey,387.html http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/cpu-charts-2008-q1-2008/3DMark06-CPU,370.html http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/cpu-charts-2008-q1-2008/PCMark-2005-CPU,382.html have a look at couple of these benchmarks and don't say to me wtf are you on about the duo core beats it in eveything, yes it beats it in everything and then don't say it but it beats it by close to double the score take a look again people at some benchmarks it does but not at everything infact it some benchmakrs i didn't mention there the duo core beats the sempron only by 2 points then is duo core e6350 a lot faster then a sempron is it worth the money i don't think so.

  I don't know how many different ways we can spell it out for you. The Core 2 Duo is better. Period. In EVERY way. I already explained the reasons they are almost the same in some benchmarks (mainly that those benchmarks don't test the CPU, they test other components of the computer). If you want to continue living with a completely inferior processor that's completely lousy for games, that's your perogative. However, stop trying to fool yourself.
