How Can I Import VHS Video to my Computer?

Converting a VHS into my computer?

  • I work with my school to put together football videos to send to college recruiters. To start i have the video in my computer in mpeg-4 format. Some games i do not attend the school sends me a DVD and that is easy for me to convert it into Mpeg-4 threw my computer. But recently a high school sent me a VHS. I do not know how to put this tape in my computer. Main issue is i need to do this for free or for a little bit of money. I don't care if i have to import it a ghetto way as long as it is not me recording the screen or spending a lot of money. Pleas help.

  • Answer:

There are two ways to do this. One is expensive and the other is less expensive. I'll start with the less expensive. Take it to Walmart, they will put it on a DVD for you in the photo department. Otherwise you'll have to buy some hardware for your computer that will read it (basically like a VCR that connects to your computer) and let you record onto your hard drive.
