Do keyboards in Europe have the dollar symbol?

Why is there a dollar sign on the keyboard, but no cent sign?

  • I just found an American keyboard (I'm from Great Britain, so obviously I only have had UK keyboards) and I was wondering, if the US one has a dollar symbol, why haven't they put a cent one? :|

  • Answer:

The dollar sign is also used in programming language, so it's simply more common. As others have said, there's no need for a specific cent key, although there is an ALT key code for it. ALT + 0162

You don't need one. You can write $0.38 to express cents.

Devo

well it because why waste valuable keyboard space with a cent sign when all you gotta do is (ex. $0.50)
