Uninstalling a scanner?

I need help getting my visioneer one touch 6600 scanner to scan again!?

• I've had this scanner for years and I've seen people say it won't work on a vista, but it has. For at least 2 or 3 years now. What happened is, I had to restore my computer and when I tried to reinstall my scanner, it didn't work anymore. It says "unable to connect to scanner" I've tried uninstalling it, reinstalling it. I've used the disk and I've used the driver off the visioneer website. I don't know what to do, it frustrates me because It has worked for so long, I've never had this problem before! does anyone have ANY idea what I can do about this?

  Hi There, That's a nice scanner with good OCR and Paperport is very handy too. Visioneer does not offer a Vista driver for this scanner. However you may be able to run the install software in compatability mode for XP. I have read that can be done and it's worth a try. Hope this helps, Al
