How do i convert an scanned doc that is a JPEG file type doc to another file type that i can edit?

I scanned sum docs and cleaned out what needed erasing in Paint, but i cant seem to convert the file type to 1 that i can edit the text.

Hi, you need to re-scan the image with OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software installed on your PC. Have u got access to a reasonably good quality scanner? If so, you should be able to print up the jpg image, place it on the scanner then scan it back onto the PC as a .doc Hope that helps.

Yep, you need to pass it through an OCR program. Generally the commercial OCR programs actually do the scanning. In all seriousness, unless is is a very clearly prited document on clean white paper, it is usually fasted just to employ a good typist to retype it for you. OCR has a lot of problems on crappy paper.
