How can the scan functionality, of an HP D135 allinone printer, be shared on a network ?

The HP D135, Allinone Printer, is connected to a desktop computer, via a USB cable. The print facility is shared on the network, just like any other printer. However, the scanner, can currently can only be accessed from the desktop. I would like to access the scan facility, with other network computers.

Use RDC (remote desktop) or a VNC program to access the computer the scanner is connected to.
