How do you scan pictures onto the computer?

  • Please help me; I want to put a drawing I drew onto the computer by scanning. I have a HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One printer. I'm able to scan with it, but how? I tried pressing 'start scan' but all it did was reprint the picture.

  • Answer:

Go in the START menu and under HP folder, start the scanning software from there. Go in the FILE menu and select SCAN. That's it. It will show you a preview of the scan. Set the dpi to 600 if it is a drawing. Otherwise, the scan will show many broken lines in that drawing and I gather you do want a good scan. Set it to 600 dpi. Press Ok and the scanner will automatically scan it to screen. That's it

Do you mean that you're pressing the Start Scan button on the All-in-One? If so, instead of doing this, start up the programme that you installed from the CD when you installed it all. This will usually call up a basic editing package where you can select the size of the scan you wish to produce, whether you're attempting to scan in colour or black & white, whether you're scanning an image or text, the quality (dots per inch) that you wish to scan at, etc. (There's usually a Preview option ... a sort of pre-scan where you are able to drag a dotted line to the area you wish to scan, where you make these changes.) You can download the manual(s) for your All-in-One from the following site.
