My wireless printer won't scan?

My MP160 Printer/Scanner, wont scan. It keeps giving error code 2,114,0.?

  • The Scanner has not worked since the printer ran out of ink. I clicked on the Navigator icon and pressed preview or scan, then the scan gear box comes up with the message “printer maintenance in progress, scan after it is complete – code 2,114,0”. Im guessing It has to do with the printer not having Ink. It may not be the case, but is there any way to over ride the error so I can use the scanner?

    I have the MP150, but my printer is not too different from yours. It would be best to check with Canon's technical support staff, but if the error is indeed about not having ink, then you can try this: Try printing something, and the Canon driver will pop up a 'low ink' window. You can choose to ignore the error and then the printer will ignore future 'low ink' errors until you replace the cartridge with a new one. After that, cancel printing and try using the scanner. There should be a user manual that was installed on your computer, so check there for more information on low ink warnings. If this solution doesn't work, then try removing both cartridges and then put them back in.
