How do you receive message alert signal on your computer?

Scanning from my computer's Hp Solution Center I receive an error message. Help!?

• Just recently, at the beginning on the year, my computer had to be rebooted because it would not turn on. When I finally got the computer up and running again I installed my printer/scanner (HP Photosmart C4480). When I went to scan some cards that I was going to sell on Ebay using the multiple image scanning of the solution center I received the error message: hpqkygrp.exe - Entry Point Not Found followed by The procedure entry point ??0CScanShortcut@@QAE@PB_W0@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library hpqtscmn.dll. I did not know what to do, because the printer could not have been messed up it was brand new, I recieved it for christmas. I have searched the internet over and over for a solution, but found nothing relating to my problem. So I turned to the help of HP, which I dread, and talked to 5 of their tech support people, one twice, and they did not know what to do. I have already tried the uninstall and reinstall like a million times and have reset everything to the factory settings, but so far nothing has helped.

  You have a corrupted dll library. To fix it remove the USB cable from the HP and power it on. Now remove all the HP and re-install over again. You will re-connect the USB only when the program asks you and not before. Let it finish setup and REBOOT. Windows will advise that it found new hardware. Now, if you are using Photoshop or Core, (which I suggest), go in the file menu and select TWAIN. Select Acquire and choose your scanner from there. It will work fine. Or if you use HP Solution Center, it should work also although, I personnally prefer using TWAIN Generic driver in Photoshop.
