I have a laptop, how do I scan pictures onto it?

I know for sure my printer is also a scanner, but I don't know what to do after, please help?
Answer:

Most Printers come with software you install along with the drivers.. Like my HP, it has an entry in the ALL PROGRAMS section, that allows you to choose the type of SCAN option. Piictures you can set the DPI on, color/B and W and a few others. Text can be OCR'ed so you can port into Word and edit and other things. PAINT will allow you to RETRIEVE or GET scans straight from the Printer/Scanner, so you can play with them :) Above mentioned program is good too.

well download ACDSee 10 or any up to date ACDSee software it has a option of Scan Pictures in the main toolbar you can easily use it to scan your pictures and please make sure first that have installed your scanner or scanner+printer drivers in your laptop
