How does printer works?

So my printer works, but my scanner doesn't, anyone know how to fix that and why it's doing that?

• I have a Lexmark All-in-one printer[printer, scanner, and it has spots for memory cards] and since about May the scanner hasn't been working. The printer works just fine, but there always says there is an error with the scanner. The printers had to be re-installed 2-3 times since April, because my computer keeps crashing, could that have anything to do with it?

  Does the scanner work from the control panel? If not then maybe it is a software problem. You may have some malware crud on your system as well, affecting it from the software point. I would try and unload the software after running a complete spyware check first, but first turn off system restore to rid anything lurking there also. You could try to look into any remaining folders for the scanner/printer software and delete them as well, then reinstall the software, and check Lexmark for any updates for it too.
