My wireless printer won't scan?

Why wont my printer scan?

• Long story, but my printer was free and i didn't get any discs or software to install it because it was already installed on a previous computer. When i hooked the USB up to my computer it worked perfectly fine and would scan and print and all that. Unfortunately i got viruses and had to have my computer cleaned out. When i got my computer back i hooked it up and it prints fine, but it wont scan. It says Connecting to PC but never does then just stops. How can i make my computer scan pictures and stuff, can i do it without getting any software since i didn't have the software before? its a brother printer by the way.

  You have to re-install the correct drivers. Look up your model and make and re-isntall the software. Just remember one thing. Remove the USB cable from the scanner before installation. Power it on, then run the software and you will re-connect the USB only when the program asks you. This will guarantee you a good installation and hassle-free.
