My HP Photosmart C4680 scans photos okay, but then takes all of my photos saved in "My Pictures".?

I did not want all of My Pictures put into the Photosmart program. Once before I deleted the pictures from Photosmart and they were also deleted from My Pictures.

Just remove all the pictures and put them in another folder.
