The "?" key on my computer sometimes prints as É?

Scan photos onto my computer? Have scanner, and prints.?

  • Okay, so I don't know how to do this: I have some printed photos (and don't have the negatives, or have them on a flash drive or anything. Just the actual prints). I am at my friend's house, because she has a scanner. Is there a way I can use the scanner to get my photos onto my computer???? I want to photoshop them. Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks !!

    In addition to the scanner driver, you also need software to use the scanner and bring the image onto your computer. (The scanner driver "tells" your computer "how" to use the scanner.) Get an image editing program like Picasa (http://picasa.google.com/) or IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.net/). They're free, small, and quick. Run the image editing program; select your source (the scanner); then acquire (scan) your images. Done!

Other then installing the scanner drivers on your computer (laptop?) and plugging it into your computer. Scan them into your friends computer, then burn then to a cd, or move them to a flash drive and then put them on your computer. Note: if you have access to the internet it is possible the drivers will install for the scanner when you plug it into your computer.

scan the pics to her computer then use a removable media like a flash drive or external hard drive, or use cds or dvds and just burn the pic files. then transfer them to your computer. alternatively, you can also sign up for a free account at any file hosting site, like photobucket, upload the pics there from your friends computer then download it using your own computer.

Check your resolution when you scan prints, too. Higher the resolution, larger the file. Too large, and you'll get errors. And they'll probably be saved as bitmap files (unless it gives you a choice as to format).
