How to scan a FedEx tracking number to Excel?
-
Greetings All My question is how to scan a FedEx tracking to an Excel cell. We are trying to scan the FedEx tracking number but the number that appears in the cell is not the number scanned. Usually it ends with 13 0s on the end. Ideally I would like to scan the tracking number and have the tracking number appear without the remaining characters. Not sure of a equation to create in Excel to do this.

Answer:
You need to "format" the cell you wish to input the tracking number to. It should be formatted for "text" input and not a number. I suspect it is now set to "number" and that is why you are getting the error you do. A "text" formatted cell will accept any combination of digits, characters, symbols and even spaces, whereas a "numerical" formatted cell will only accept digits.
