How do you scan a picture to your computer?

I have a printer that says "Scan, Photocopy, Print". I put a picture into the scanner and selected "scan" then it said "USB not connected" and so I plugged a USB into my computer and retried, and it still said "USB not connected" Whats wrong? Its a HP photosmart printer by the way.

Did you plug a USB CABLE from the printer into the PC USB port? That is what it is asking for duh! Plugged a flash drive in, LOL!!!! No wonder our country is doomed.

you have to install the drivers for it...there should be a cd that came with it so put it in and install the programs it needs...if you dont have the cd go on HP's website and get the drivers there.

How is it connected then? And did you actually bother to install the full software for it?

If you're question's asking how do you fix your USB problem you could try reinstalling the printer. OR you can try unplugging the USB from the computer and printer. Then plug it back in. Some Printers don't have the capabilities.
