How do I scan something and then send it as an attachment?

How to scan a picture onto my computer?

  • I have a hp photosmart c5280 all-in-one printer. by using the scan button on the printer itself it only allows me to scan&print or scan&save it on to a memory card.(sd, xd..etc I don't have any of these.) I just need to scan something to send it through an e-mail. how do I scan so it appears on my monitor? please help thanx:)

looking at the manual you have to select the output source i.e memory card/computer/ etc . Here is teh link to manual, pg.11 says what to do. usually printers come with software which you open up and find a scan button which automatically tells the printer to scan and send to computer. Make sure printer is connected to the computer...

Have you installed the printer's software on the pc? It should have installed something that allows you to scan. Try opening up the printer's control panel and see if you can scan from there.
