HP Printer C3180 Problem w/ scanner feature?

  • I have a Hewlett Packard C3180 All In One Printer, Copier, Scanner. I went to go scan something and it says : "No Scanner Found. Please check connections and try to "Get Images" again. I have tried everything.....reseting the power cycle, uninstalling and reinstalling....3x, deleting the registry keys, checking the USB chipset, confirned the digital imaging device is on....basically everything the HP troubleshoot page told me to do. Funny thing is that the printer and the copier both still work. It's like my computer isn't recognizing it as a scanner. I checked under the "SCANNER AND CAMERA" device setup.....and there's nothing there! I then tried to "ADD DEVICE" but it keeps asking me for a 3 1/2 inch floppy.....my pc don't even have a floppy drive. I've only had this thing for a year and HP is giving me no help (waranty expired yesterday...go figure). I've also tried downloading the suggested scanning patch to fix it...nothing...nada...zilch! PLEASE HELP....Thank you!!!!
