How can i scan pictures with my hp photosmart c4280?

how can i scan pictures with my hp photosmart c4280, when i try it says the printer is not connected but i can print stuff from the computer to the printer so im pretty sure it is connected.??? help please i really need to scan some documents. it keeps giving me this message (no hp devices have been detected. hp solution center will close now.)

Answer:
Remove the USB cable from the scanner. Begin a fresh install and let the program tell you when to re-connect the USB cable. Let it finish and reboot computer. Windows will find the scanner. Go in control panel and click on Scanners & Cameras. You will see the HP icon there and you can click it and use that menu.
