What's wrong with the printer?

Whats WRONG WITH THIS PRINTER/SCANNER?

  • okay guys..i NEED help.... so i have a printer with a scanner connected....its a photo 926 dell printer... but i used my scanner one time and it worked ..now my family and i took some family photos and need the scanner and it keeps sayin scan failed.. the light doesnt even come on ..but the printer work and the copy part works ..just not the faxin or scanning.. can someone tell me whats the problem or is it broke??? PLEASE HELP... THANKS for ALL YOUR HELP

    My opinion is the bulb inside kicked the bucket. Try turning it off and restarting the PC. Then turn the printer back on and try to scan. If that doesnt work, throw the Dell out the window and buy a Brother or HP printer.

Hi cee cee, I recommend to install it again using the CD that came with your 926 dell printer, that can fix the problem. Also install the programs that came with it. Do a full installation. I'll be dead honest and say I don't have a certain answer, but I will try to help the best I can. My first guess would be the scanner has failed, and you're probably thinking the same thing. The only other guess is you have a driver that is corrupt or out dated and you can try reinstalling the driver. I'll try to get right back on updating the driver be patient.

WE had Dell printers installed in our office at a point of time. But the Faxing never worked properly and the print catridges can be bought only from dell as they are not avialble in a ny regular stores. This was rather frustating since when we ordered for new catridges they took a very long time to deliver which hampered our office work severely. We also lodged a complaint regarding the Faxing part of it, but got no update from dell. Now that our warranty has expired the guys at the dell tell us that we pay them first for warranty renewal and then again log in a new complaint. Instead we threw out the dell printer purchased Brother, which as of now is giving no problems
