Answer:
Norton does that. You have to scan that after you download it. Just right click and click on Norton.

OK there are many great programs out there that i can recommend overall i would give AVG the complete thumbs up i think is is great and is not to constrictive for me like blocking ports and what not its awesome. There is also Norton 360 which is a great one but i had problems at first with it blocking my ports and just making me go through hassle after hassle. Other people prefer Kaspersky which all around is another great top contender with anti virus. People with more experience with Anti prefer Kaspersky but Your best bet is Avg and also if you can get yourself a copy of avg 2008 or 2009 i can give you an extra activation key i have that will keep you up to date untill 2018 :D just email me and i will send it for ya.

All you do is when you download, dont click open click save, then scan the folder by right clicking it and you will see the option to scan the folder with whatever anti-virus you have installed, AVG is good but Avast is better.

Right, I am going to recommend NOD32 or Kaspersky. You aren't going to like it but you will need to pay and my reason for saying this is because the way you use the internet will, as you have probably found cause you to encounter viruses. NOD32 is the tool I use and it is pretty comprehensive and doesn't hog the system. Norton is good, but tends to be a pain in the bum because it is too intrusive. AVG is good but in the free flavour won't give you the coverage you really need.
